I love activities that require little to no prep and use upcycled materials I have lying around the house. Over the past few years between my two girls, I have collected a lot of baby food pouch tops, and thought they would be perfect for this activity!
For our Japan unit, I wanted to show my oldest how to use chop sticks, and thought this would be a fun little activity.

I set up a small tray I got at Dollar Tree and filled it with green “sushi” pouch tops. I put a small bowl for my daughter to transfer to and of course the chop sticks.

She really loved this activity and sorta got the idea of how to use chop sticks. Great for promoting fine motor skills, chop stick use and a great Montessori-style transfer activity.
