Kids love to make messes. Slime is messy. Kids love slime. I’ve made slime a couple times with my toddler now, and I’ve learned a few things.
- Buy glue with glitter already in it, if you mix it in later it gets everywhere.
- Don’t use a slime recipe with water, the water eventually leaks out of the slime and it doesn’t last as long.
- Never allow the slime to be used without 110% attention – I looked away ONCE and my toddler got slime ground into a relatively new shirt. *face palm*
I personally love simple recipes – for my slime, food and life, lol.
BEST SLIME RECIPE:
– 1 – 6 ounce bottle of glue (Polyvinyl Acetate glue – base of most school glue or craft glue)
– 1/2 Tablespoon Baking Soda
– 1 teaspoon contact solution (must include Boric Acid in the ingredient list)
What makes slime is the chemical reaction to boric acid and polyvinyl acetate. It works pretty quickly too.

I used a 6 oz bottle of glitter glue – I squeezed most of the bottle out, so had around 4 ounces in the bowl.
I then added my baking soda, mixed thoroughly…

…then added the contact solution.

Once you add the contact solution, the slime starts to form very quickly and is hard to mix. It’s much easier to just mix with your hands, even though it’s sticky at first.

I was making this for my toddler, but I was having way too much fun playing with it myself!

This recipe has a lovely rubbery texture that is very satisfying to play with.

My toddler highly agreed.

I had little emoji puke balls and had a lot of fun playing with slime that way too.

What colors will you make??
