I love activities that can be created with recycled items or with minimal expense. I find myself at Home Depot often for projects I do around the house, and with a little Pinterest inspiration, this easy activity only needs a few household items! First get a few paint swatches at your local home improvement store. I chose ones with a variety of colors (at least three different shades). You’ll also need some wooden clothes pins, craft glue and scissors.

First cut a your swatch into a nice square piece. I cut the right side of these swatches because the color names were in the middle and I didn’t want them on my finished product.

Next you’ll cut a small sample of each color to glue to the clothes pins.

Drop a small piece of glue on the top of each clothes pin and glue the corresponding color onto it.

Allow to dry for 24 hours before letting the kiddo(s) at them. 🙂

The finished product looks so colorful!
My kiddo loved them! At first I gave her only two colors, but she seemed to get the hang of it very quickly, so I mixed them all up and allowed her to do all the colors.
